Wetzel’s Pretzels has opened a new bakery inside the Walmart on Dorchester Road in Summerville, marking the brand’s first brick-and-mortar location in South Carolina.

The store, located at 9880 Dorchester Road, expands the California-based pretzel chain’s presence in high-traffic retail settings. The opening is part of the brand’s broader growth strategy to add locations in Walmart stores nationwide.

The Summerville bakery is operated by Mathieu and Hannah Rajaonah, a husband-and-wife team and first-time Wetzel’s franchisees. The couple previously owned a franchise business in Arizona before relocating to the Charleston area in 2025.
