Wetzel’s Pretzels (Wetzel’s), the iconic brand known for its fresh, hand-rolled pretzels, is opening its first brick-and-mortar location in the state of South Carolina. The brand has joined forces with Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, to continue its development in untapped markets. The new bakery is situated inside the Walmart at 9880 Dorchester Rd.

The new store signifies Wetzel’s Pretzels continued expansion into high-traffic retail environments, including prime Walmart locations. Guests can now expect more flavor in the community with its craveable snacks and refreshing drinks, a perfect pairing for any shopping trip. Husband and Wife, as well as first-time Wetzel’s operators, Mathieu and Hannah Rajaonah, will be spearheading the opening. The pair brings entrepreneurial experience from owning a franchise business in Arizona prior to relocating to the Charleston metro area in 2025. They were first introduced to a Wetzel’s Pretzels back in Arizona and were set on bringing handheld happiness to South Carolina. The Rajaonahs will continue to grow the brand’s footprint with another Wetzel’s opening in 2027.
